*WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena kicked off Raw. Cena reminds everyone to go and sign up for the free preview week on the WWE Network. Cena says that in 6 days at Battleground, the champ may not be here and reminds the WWE Universe the rules of a Fatal 4 Way. Roman Reigns is out next. Cena says that he knows Reigns doesn't want to be ignored and he says come Sunday, they should take out The Authority and see who really is the better man. Reigns & Cena then argue to see who is better. Dean Ambrose appears on the titantron and says that he has a plan for tonights main event and thats to kick The Authority's ass, but they can't do it if all they're doing is arguing. Kane, Seth Rollins, and Randy Orton then appear and surround Dean. They then attack Ambrose and its 3 on 1. Kane chokeslams Ambrose on a crate and Rollins then curb stomps him. Cena & Reigns were nowhere to be found as Ambrose was knocked out cold to end the opening segment.

*The Usos are out for their match next. As they make their entrance, The Wyatt Family members, Harper & Rowan blindside them from behind, attack them all over ringside, and lay them out with a double finisher in the ring.
*The United States-Russia Detente is next featuring Jack Swagger & Zeb Colter and Rusev & Lana hosted by Michael Cole. Lana says that Russia has always spoken the better language and says that USA always chosen violence as the answer. Lana told Swagger & Zeb to apologize for the USA. Zeb says that he fought in war to protect the USA from foreign and domestic violence and says Hell No to Lana for apologizing. Zeb asks Rusev if he will face Swagger at Battleground and Rusev accepts and says "This is War". Zeb tells Lana that he wants Rusev to learn 3 words and those words are "WE THE PEOPLE" as Lana slaps Zeb and the brawl is on between Swagger & Rusev. Rusev gets the upperhand until he goes for a superkick and Swagger grabs his ankle and locks in the patriot lock until Rusev escapes leading Swagger & Colter standing tall.

*Nikki Bella came out for her match next. Stephanie Mcmahon makes her way to the stage. She says that she is sorry she has to pay the consequences for what her sister did to her. She says she has no one to blame but her sister Brie Bella and not The Authority. She says tonight she will be put in another Handicap Match against Cameron & Alicia Fox next.

*Chris Jericho is out next for answers from Bray Wyatt. Y2J went on to list all his accomplishments in his career and cracked jokes about the Bob Barker segment from 2010. He said that at Battleground for the first time ever they will face off and he will get crazy. Bray Wyatt gets on the titantron and cuts a promo on their match. He asks Y2J if he's afraid of the dark. The lights go out and as they come back on The Wyatts are in the ring and the assault is on. Y2J is able to escape but then gets attacked by Bray on the stage as he hits him with Sister Abigail.

*Backstage Segment with The Authority, Seth Rollins, and Paul Heyman
*Ric Flair makes his return to Raw for an interview hosted by Renee Young. Flair said he has had a lot of fun in Richmond in the past. Renee asked Ric who he sees walking out of Battleground and his prediction is John Cena. Roman Reigns is out next and shakes Ric's hand before he leaves the arena to get ready for the main event.
-John Cena & Roman Reigns df. Kane, Seth Rollins, and Randy Orton via DQ when Orton & Kane assaulted Reigns. Orton turned on Kane and laid him out with an RKO. Reigns spears Orton lastly leaving Reigns standing tall over everyone to end the last Raw before Battleground.
